Our History
Investors Life Insurance Company of North America (“ILICNA”) is a Texas-domiciled life and annuity insurance company that is licensed in 49 states, Washington DC and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
ILICNA was incorporated and began writing business in 1963. The company was originally domiciled in Pennsylvania before re-domesticating to Washington. During the 1990’s and 2000’s, ILICNA acquired several blocks of business, including the Mississippi-domiciled Standard Life Insurance Company and Investors Life Insurance Company of Indiana. In March of 2004, the company re-domesticated to Texas, where it has remained ever since. The company was acquired by Americo Financial Life and Annuity Insurance Company in 2008 and ceased writing new business from 2009 to 2023.
On July 1, 2024, ILICNA was purchased by Arcus, an experienced life insurance and fixed annuity management team led by industry veteran Chip Gillis. The Arcus team is focused on serving the insurance needs of US consumers, and making the insurance buying process more joyful, satisfying, and efficient. Initially focusing on providing fixed deferred and fixed indexed annuities, the team envisions eventually offering a broad product suite to meet the needs of consumers throughout their lifecycle.
